Computer Engineering Building, Faculty of Engineering, University of Sri Jayawardenepura

The new Faculty of Engineering Campus, completed in November 2025, was designed by tsw | architects, providing the Lead Architectural Consultancy Services for this prestigious ADB funded project. The new international standard Faculty requirements included 9 new buildings (see key building breakdown below) to accommodate the Engineering Departments and administrative divisions of the Faculty. The design for the project emphasised the united campus of the Faculty whilst portraying the individual engineering disciplines. This was achieved through the use of detailed brick facade design, unified as a material yet changing for each building facade. Key architectural elements such as bifurcating columns which mark the entrance to each Department in their own unique colour scheme. Internally, complex spatial planning and technical service design were also provided for the 60+ laboratories that the building accommodate. In addition to laboratories, administration and office spaces, Lecture Halls, Cafeteria, Gym, Daycare Centre and a state of the art performing Arts Auditorium were all included in the project.
